Option trading is a way for investors to leverage assets and control some of the risks associated with trading in the stock market. Majority of all investors, not only in stock market but all asset classes are familiar with the saying, “Buy low and sell high.” But with options, it’s possible to profit whether stocks are going up, down, or sideways. You can use options to cut losses, protect gains, and control large chunks of stock with a relatively small cash outlay or simply use it to create an ongoing cashflow.
On the other hand, option strategies can be complicated and risky. Not only might you lose your entire investment, some strategies may expose you to theoretically unlimited losses.
As mentioned, option investing is complicated and can be dangerous without knowledge and years of practice trading in the market. But the good news is that the basics can be learnt fairly quickly and can be practiced with a simulated trading account (nearly every online brokerage firm offers that facility) as you master the skill. And today’s age of internet, learning and trading in the financial market can be within an easy grasp of fingertips.
My encouragement is to read the blog post where I share one of my real trades every week. Hopefully it would excite you enough to dive in and learn more and choose options as a trading vehicle to generate extra cashflow that certainly could lead to financial independence.
